What I did this weekend.

This past weekend, I made a short film for a competition called the 48 Hour Film Project. It's been around for 10 years now, and seems to be getting more and more popular. This is my seventh 48 hour film. No, I've never won. But I find the challenge extremely rewarding, and the whole experience is exhilarating, stressful, and ultimately very fun.

If you're not sure what it's all about, this competition takes place over 48 hours in cities all over the world. Teams are required to make a short film from scratch using a randomly selected film genre, as well as a line of dialogue, character, and prop.

The genre given to me was "Film de Femme". This genre was invented by the 48 Hour Film Project; they explain it best. "A Film de Femme is a film featuring one or more strong female characters."

The other required elements were:

Character: Ian or Ilene Jeffers (a recycling expert)
Prop: A chair
Line of Dialogue: "Give me some kind of sign."
