Ah, Scotland!

I’m writing this after getting a SOLID nights sleep, and man, did I need it. We left for Scotland at 1:30pm on Sunday, and I really only got about 2-3 hours sleep on the plane ride over.  The plane was fine except that my screen on the seat in front of me didn’t show me the two channels I wanted to watch. :(   (I was looking forward to seeing The Day the Earth Stood Still and the GPS channel which showed the planes progress – cool!)  Too bad mine didn’t work.  Humph.  That’s ok, I still had my ipod and psp to keep me entertained.

After landing in Edinburgh, we didn’t quite know where to wait for my sister; we probably should have discussed that before we left. ;)   But her and her boyfriend Keith found us not much later, and right away, we were off to sightseeing!  Talk about wasting no time.

They took us to this super old tree that apparently, only the locals know about.

We then got to check out my sisters place of work where we were “forced” to have deep fried Mars bars.  Um, soooo good.

After a quick trip to Costco to get supplies for our mini-trip to a cabin tonight, we stopped by a pub to watch some Irish dancing.  It was right near the castle.

We ended the night with some Mario Kart Wii where I didn’t play nearly as well as I should have. ;)   I was just soooo sleepy.  I must have appeared like I was drunk cause I wasn’t making sense for the last few hours of the day.  Oh well.  After a good night’s sleep, and a shower, I’m feeling MUCH better.

In just a few minutes (after my sisters finishes packing ;) , we’ll be heading off to a cabin for a few nights up north where we’ll be staying on  a lake.  It’s supposed to be beautiful up there, but then again, so far, it’s great here.

I must concede, I’m quite jealous of you and Evelyn for this trip you’re taking. Looks like you’re off to a terrific start!
